Questions About Your Stay

  • Check-in is at 4:00pm. You may be on the property before 4:00, but your door code will not be active before 4:00PM.

In some cases, if the home you’re staying in is turning over same day, check-in may not be until 5:00pm.

The door code and directions to your home will be emailed to you the day before your arrival.

  • To access your home when you arrive, you’ll need the door lock code that was emailed to you 24 hours before your arrival.

To use the code, simply “punch in” the code on they keypad on the front door of your home, and press the lock/unlock button above the numerical keypad.

Door codes become active at 4:00PM. You are welcome to be on the property sooner than 4:00PM, but access to your home will not be available before that time. You may leave your belongings in your vehicle or store them in The Farmhouse (the game room!) while you’re exploring before check-in.

  • Check-out time is 10:00am.

You may remain on property after 10:00AM if you have booked spa treatments, but your items & belongings need to be removed from your room by 10:00AM.

Things to Do

  • Included activities with your stay on-site:

Add-on activities when you stay on-site:

A few of our favorite things to do in the area:

  • We do not offer horseback riding on-site. We work with some great outfitters 15 minutes away who can take you on excellent trails through Pisgah National Forest if you want to ride.

If you are traveling with your horses, we offer the ability to stay on property with them and board them in our paddocks during your stay.

  • Yes, the animals are available for guided tours by our staff.

Please contact one of our staff members to set up a tour so we can show you the proper way to get down to the animals and interact with them. Guests should never enter the pastures or fields from any place other than the dirt path that leads from the Willow Pond to the barn.

We love sharing the animals on the farm with our guests and want you to have a safe experience with them. It is important to remember that our animals are wild animals here solely for agricultural purposes and may behave as such.

  • Here is a link to Upcoming Events on The Horse Shoe Farm. Please check back regularly.

Pet reservations must be made in advance. Please inquire at the time of booking if the home you’ve requested is pet friendly—a maximum of one pet per home.

  • Daily housekeeping is not included in your stay at The Horse Shoe Farm. It is an additional service that can be added on for a fee in advance.

If you do add on daily housekeeping, it includes beds made, refreshing the bathroom, changing towels changed, trash removal, and light tidying of the home. We do not do kitchens and dishes or floors. If you stay longer than a week and add on the service, bed linens will be changed on the 7th day.

Please call the farm in advance to schedule that service.

  • A two-night minimum stay is required for most homes. Holidays and peak seasons may require three nights or more.

  • If you find you must cancel your reservation, please do so immediately.

95% of paid prepayments will be refunded when canceled 90 days before arrival or earlier.

If canceled within 90 days of rental check-in, the advance rent payment will NOT be refunded unless the property is re-rented for the same period.

If the home re-books, you will receive the advance rent payment less a $150 fee.

All advance rent payments are non-refundable within 30 days of rental check-in.

Failure to pay an unpaid balance forfeit all advance payment and reservation rights.

All refunds on credit cards will only be issued less a credit card processing fee of 5% on the original amount charged.

  • Bookings at The Horse Shoe Farm require 50% of the total amount due upon booking. The balance is due 30 days before arrival. The total amount will be due upon booking if you are within 30 days before your rental.

Different terms and conditions may apply for weddings, group bookings, and retreats.

  • The Horse Shoe Farm reserves the right to charge up to $1,500.00 per property or up to $3,000 for The Magnolia Manor for a Security Deposit to the card on file in the event of lost, damaged, or stolen property up to forty-five [45] days after your stay.

Upon inspection after check-out, no charge will be made if no property is damaged or missing.

  • We love having the activities on the farm open for guests to use at their leisure and freedom. However, due to the risk involved, we require all guests to sign a Waiver of Liability.

Parents must sign for all children under the age of 18.

The waiver will be sent to you before your arrival and is required to get the door code for your home.

Please be sure to have all party members sign the waiver upon your arrival at the farm.

  • The Horse Shoe Farm prohibits all persons from carrying or otherwise possessing a firearm and/or any other weapon on the property, including carrying firearms in an open or concealed manner. This policy applies to all firearms (whether the firearm is a handgun or a long-barreled gun), bows/arrows, explosives, swords/knives, or any other item that may be considered a weapon in the sole opinion of The Horse Shoe Farm.

Guests who fail to abide by this policy may be asked to leave the premises. A blanket exception to the restrictions described in this policy statement applied only to law enforcement officers. It designated military personnel who are on duty and required to carry firearms in performing their duties.

No exemption to this policy is allowed for private persons, even those licensed and permitted to carry a firearm and/or, where applicable, conceal-carry a firearm.

  • If you have a medical emergency, dial 911 and give them the home address you’re staying in (not the general farm address). There is also a list of local emergency numbers in the Welcome Book in each home should you need them.

While we hope that your stay at The Horse Shoe Farm will be magical and without incident… however, things do happen!

For home emergencies (broken water pipes, leaking roofs, power failure, etc.), call 828.393.3034 ext 0.
